Paper-insulated copper conductors are electrical wires covered with special types of treated paper, such as Mica Tape, Kraft Paper, or Nomex™ Paper. This insulation is commonly used in high-voltage electrical systems, including oil-filled power transformers, dry-type transformers, high-tension motors, and windmill generators.
The treated paper is soaked with insulating oils or resins to enhance its electrical and heat resistance. This insulation offers strong protection against electrical breakdown and is more eco-friendly because it is biodegradable.
